About Hilary

Hilary Beirne was born and raised in Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. An educator by profession, he is best known for his involvement and role as C.A.O. with the iconic, New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade which dates back to 1762.

Beirne maintains a deep connection with Ireland and is a strong advocate for Irish Citizens living abroad.

Why Vote?
1. Elect a representative who will lobby for all Irish citizen both in Ireland and abroad
2. To elect a representative who will represent graduates living in Ireland and globally.
3. Elect a representative who will lobby for changes in NUI practices to prepare graduates for global integration.
4. Elect a representative who will lobby and assist NUI institutions get sufficient funding to adjust curriculum and research for the global student.
5. Elect a representative who will lobby for reciprocal and mutually beneficial agreements with education institutions globally and in Europe, thereby helping graduates secure jobs in Ireland and abroad.
How To Vote?
To vote in the National University of Ireland constituency(NUI),  all NUI graduates living in Ireland or abroad MUST register to vote in order to cast their vote in Seanad elections through the post. Once registered (on or before February 26) you will be included in the live register and receive ballot papers, provided your address is current.
